Paul Gallant (Principal), mentioned on University of British Columbia, Medicine, web: "First of it's kind workshop brings citizens and providers together to discuss [health] system redesign"Details
Paul led and conducted stakeholder analysis with health leaders, physicians, patients and advisory groups. He developed content from Public Participation (e.g. IAP2), Patient Family Centred Care (e.g. IPFCC) and Triple Aim (IHI & BC Ministry of Health) frameworks. He facilitated a working group from various partner organizations that included patients, advised on project management, quality improvement, facilitated priority setting and relationship building, plus oversaw the development and delivery of an interactive workshop for health care providers, leaders and citizens.
"Twenty-one community members and health
care providers from the Fraser Health region participated in a workshop on
Saturday October 1st at the Surrey Central Library to discuss ways that
citizens can inform the health system. The interactive workshop was the
first of its kind developed by the Your Voice Counts collaboration.
The session focused on three topics
identified by community members through surveys and community consultations:
1. How to talk about your health care
2. How the health care system works and
the challenges it faces
3. How to use your experiences to improve
the health care system.
The session was co-facilitated by team
members Paul Gallant (GHWA/INSITE), Ron Plowright of Fraser Health, Andrea McLagan of
ImpactBC and Sheila Allison of the Patient Voices Network. In
partnership with the Intercultural Online Health Network."
